Florianópolis is the capital of the Brazilian island, as well as the state of Santa Catarina, which is located a thousand kilometers south of Rio de Janeiro and is bathed by the Atlantic Ocean.

Here are some of the most famous beaches:
–Praia Mole. A beach known above all for surfing and for being one of the locations for the ASP (Association of Surfing Professionals) World Tour, which classifies 50 competitors, including professionals and amateurs.
–Praia Joaquina. It became internationally famous during the 1970s when its waves began to attract surfers from all over the world.
–Praia Campeche. With its 5 kilometers of white sand and turbulent waters, Campeche is considered to be the Brazilian Jeffreys Bay because of the quality of its waves. 
–Praia Santinho. It’s a spot suitable for tourists looking for nature, the heavenly beauty of the location and tranquility.
Surfers also consider Santinho the best beach in the north of the island of Santa Catarina.
But the fun doesn’t stop there.
Those who wish can also challenge themselves with sand boarding, a sport that requires a lot of balance and consists, as the name implies, in sliding down from the sand dunes using a board.
